It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as Judge of the 212th District Court. I would like the honor of continuing to serve the citizens of Galveston County as the judge of this court. I am asking for you vote and support of my re-election campaign. It is my goal as a public servant to promote Promt Justice, Fair Justice, the Protection of our Children, Public Access to the courts, and the education of children about the court system.

Prompt JusticeJudge Criss' hard work has eliminated the backlog in the Court. This has greatly reduced the amount of time it takes cases to come to trial. Fair JusticeJudge Criss launched a program to provide non-English speaking probationers with probation terms, conditions and rules in their native language, so they understand what is expected of them. Protecting Our ChildrenJudge Criss toughened restrictions for sex-offenders by requiring periodic polygraph examinations and prohibiting Internet and computer access. This reduced opportunities for the offenders to lure children through Internet chat rooms. Bringing the Court to the PublicJudge Criss created the first court web site in Galveston County. The web site lets attorneys, witnesses, law enforcement, jurors, the media, and the public learn about the Court's trial schedule, daily schedule, major case information, juror information, and court rules and forms. Teaching Children About Our CourtsJudge Criss' court web site contains her "Court Class
for Children". This class teaches children about the
courts and the law. |
